Deb and I made it home from camping last night .
It was a busy week , but a fun one. Everyone is back in the work mode again , except maybe Deb, ha,ha.
Remember, Deb gets Mondays and Fridays off the rest of the summer. (:<). I really am very happy for her.
But I confess I do have a case of ( THE MONDAYS ) today (:<).
It’s not bad enough coming back to a rainy Mon. morning after a full weeks vacation, but what’s even worse knowing Deb can sleep til noon if she wants, ha,ha.
DRUG PUSHERS – I have never taken any kind of pills, and I don’t consider my self lucky either. Even though I have a weight problem, I walk 3 to 6 miles a day and I eat healthy choices most of the time. I just eat too much of the healthy choices, ha,ha.
Most of our friends are on two or three pills a day . They are not as heavy as me , but the doctors today seem to sure push the drugs. It is very scary to me to think so many people under the age of 50 are on so many drugs . Not to mention people over 50 years old.
I have only taken about 25 aspirins in my whole life.
Deb and I are very concerned about my folks and how the doctors are overdosing them on drugs. They both take over 20 pills everyday.
My stepdad now has completely lost his appitite. My mom gets very defensive when we ask her what they all are. She has a box with 20 or so little compartments all filled with all those pills.
Very strange to us to see them on so many drugs. I always thought you shouldn’t mix drugs. Over 20 pills a day sure sounds like mixing drugs to me.
But they assure us the doctors know what they are doing ???
HOUGH PAYDOZER – I am back working on the paydozer today and should get it done this week.
MICHIGAN 675 LOADER MODEL- If all goes well, I will begin the monster Michigan 675 Loader next week. I love the looks of this old machine and look very forward to building a very detailed model of it.
LAWNWORK UPDATE- It has been extremely hot and very dry so the lawns are all burned up in our area. So the mowing has been little to none for a while. We are getting a nice rain today , but not enough to green things up.
NEXT CAMPING TRIP- This week should go fast as Thurs. night we will head out again for our 10th camping trip this summer. Once the cold air hits in Sept. we will look back and think what a wonderful summer we had.

NICOLE AND BILL UPDATE- Nicole called us last night and said they had a safe trip back to D.C. They said they had a great time and it seems good to be home again.
HOUGH PAYDOZER PROGRESS- None to report , still vacationing , ha,ha.

Blue Angels Air Show- We watched the air show yesterday and enjoyed it very much , but it isn’t quite as spectacular without the Blue Angels . We have seen them perform dozens of times at the Cherry Festival over the years , but the festival has been having finacial problems the last couple years and it could be why we haven’t seen them the last two years.

JUST DEB and I AGAIN – After a week of being around Bill and Nicole and all the family, it seemed strange just Deb and I again walking around the Cherry Festival.
But it reminded me how much fun just the two of us can still have and why I love Deb so much and still consider her my best friend.

Here is a picture I took from the food court area at the Cherry Festival on Sat. Ninty degree temps didn’t discourage the thousands of visitors to the yearly event in Traverse City.
We were sitting in a shady spot enjoying a piece of fresh cherry pie.
Cherry Festival Air Show- Deb and I found another little shade under a tree and enjoyed the air show.
Today we will go back down to the festival and walk around and enjoy a second piece of cherry pie, ha,ha.

Yesterday was a great day for Deb and I . After 4 weeks of not using our cars , the concrete crew came to pour concrete in our driveway and then yesterday they layed most of the blacktop . They ran out of blacktop right where I took this picture across from our house. They must have not had anymore at the ashphalt plant . So I’m sure Mon. they will be back to finish the road and finish the intersections.
Sunday night we should be able to drive our cars out of the garage for the first time, Oh YEA !!!!!!!
NICOLE AND BILL UPDATE- Nicole and Bill are on their way back to D.C after a very fun week with them.
We will make our second trip to D.C. in the fall . We plan to go down to Norfolk , Va. to the Naval Shipyard and to Va. Beach as part of our fall D.C. visit .
Hough Paydozer Update- Nothing to report as I am still on vacation, Oh Yea !!
CAMPING TRIP NO. 9- As Nicole and Bill headed south to D.C. , we had the motorhome packed early this morning and we followed them a few blocks as we headed West to Traverse City to the National Cherry Festival .
So it will give us something to do to fill the void of Nicole and Bill leaving today after such a fun week with them.
We still love Nicole so much even now that she is grown up. My goal is to leave as many fun memories with her to share with her kids in the years ahead.
Hopefully we will be around to make a few memories with the grandkids too, ha,ha.
